WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Fitness & Physiology

At the heart of our program is a focus on physiology and fitness. We believe kids thrive when they understand how their bodies work—and once they do, they’re empowered to make them stronger. Each day blends a fun, hands-on lesson about the body with movement and fitness that keeps learning active and exciting.

Project Based

Real-world skills come alive through hands-on, project-based learning. Every 5–6 weeks, learners dive into a unique project that builds toward a presentation—where they get to proudly share their work with Apogee parents and our community.

Self Paced Academics

At Apogee, leaders take ownership of their education. With the guidance of supportive coaches, they set, track, and reach their own academic goals. Along the way, they choose the tools that work best for them—whether it’s interactive online platforms, tried-and-true books, or a mix of both. The choice is theirs, and the growth is real.

Coaches, Not Teachers

Our guides mentor and challenge young leaders as they take ownership of their learning journey. They ask powerful questions, hold students accountable, and help each child discover and develop their unique strengths.

Free Play

Kids need play. Our leaders will be free to move their bodies throughout the day and encouraged to do so during "free play" periods. Imagination and play is critical to learning and we will encourage it, often.

Community Involvement

At Apogee Hunterdon, learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door—it’s deeply connected to our community. Local experts, business owners, and neighbors are invited in to share their skills, stories, and passions. Whether it’s a hands-on lesson, a real-world demonstration, or career insights, these experiences inspire our learners and show them how knowledge connects to the world around them.

What does a day in the life look like?

Each day blends intentional structure with the freedom to explore. Students move through projects, academics, fitness, and free play. The schedule provides a framework, but when curiosity and deep learning take hold, our coaches give students the space to follow it.

What about middle school and high school?

Currently, we serve ages 5-12.

The long-term vision is to develop the upper level environments as our oldest leaders continue to grow.

The Apogee network has developed middle and high school frameworks that

move far beyond the traditional classroom experience. While the core principles remain the same, the focus shifts toward apprenticeships, real-world projects, entrepreneurship, portfolio building, and developing practical life and career skills that are often overlooked in conventional education.

Students are encouraged to take on meaningful responsibilities, explore their interests in depth, and gain hands-on experience that prepares them for adulthood. As the network continues to grow, Apogee has also begun establishing partnerships with universities and other post-secondary pathways to support learners as they transition into the next stage of their educational journey.
